In what has been one of the more close Touring car seasons, Mark Skaife and his Holden Commodore have never been to far off the pace, if not winning. He narrowly missed out on being the national sprint car champion by 22 points to team mate Craig Lowndes. He is currently coming 6th in the shell championship after that mongrel driver Jason Bright knocked him and his teammate Paul Morris out of contention very early in the race during the Queensland 500.
